A routine cleaning isn't just polishing — our Teeth Cleaning And Checkup visits include gum-pocket measurements, bitewing X-rays when due, and an oral cancer screening most patients don't realize is part of the standard exam.
Every Smile Center Dentistry office offering Teeth Cleaning And Checkup is held to the same four standards, verified before the office ever joins our network.
Gum-pocket depth is measured and recorded at every visit, not just when something already looks wrong.
X-rays are taken on a schedule appropriate to your cavity risk and history, not automatically every single visit.
A visual and physical oral cancer screening is part of every standard checkup, not a separate add-on.
We compare this visit's findings to your last one, so gradual changes don't slip past unnoticed.
Here's the range of Teeth Cleaning And Checkup our South Tucson team handles most, described the way we'd explain it chairside rather than in marketing language.
Polishing afterward smooths tooth surfaces and removes surface staining from coffee, tea, or wine. Most patients need this every six months, though some benefit from more frequent visits.
Gum-pocket depths are measured at multiple points around each tooth and recorded to track changes over time. We flag any concerning trends before they progress further.
Bitewing X-rays check for decay between teeth that a visual exam alone can't catch. We'll walk you through what we're looking at if anything shows up.
This screening takes just a couple of minutes but is one of the most important parts of the visit. Most findings are entirely benign, but we follow up on anything unusual promptly.
A fluoride application strengthens enamel and helps prevent early decay, especially useful for higher-risk patients. Both children and adults with higher cavity risk benefit from this.
This trend tracking catches gradual changes that a single visit alone might miss. Your dental chart becomes more useful to you the longer you stay with the same office.

We publish these as-is, because that's the only kind of review worth reading before booking Teeth Cleaning And Checkup.
“They caught a gum-pocket change I wouldn't have noticed myself and adjusted my cleaning schedule before it became a real problem.”
“Appreciated that they didn't just take X-rays automatically every visit — they explained why I didn't need one this time.”
“The oral cancer screening takes two minutes and honestly gives me peace of mind every single visit.”
